A total of Seventy-Seven (77) violent incidents were recorded across Ghana in May 2026. Of these, Physical violence accounted for 33 incidents (43%). There were 20 (26%) cases of Gun violence while Economic related incidents comprised 14 incidents (18%). There were 4 (5%) incidents of Sexual Violence and 3 (4%) cases of Political Violence. Social incidents contributed 2 (3%) cases. Only (1) incident of Psychological violence was recorded during the period.
Regionally, the Ashanti Region recorded the highest number of incidents, with 14 cases. This is followed
by the Greater Accra Region with 13 cases. Western and Central Regions recorded 8 cases each and Eastern Region recorded 7 cases. There were 6 cases in the Oti Region whiles Upper East and Bono regions recorded 4 cases each. Northern and Volta regions also recorded 3 cases each. Western North, North East, Upper West recorded 2 cases each. Only 1 case was recorded in the Savannah Region. Two regions including Bono East and Ahafo Regions did not record an incident
