SECURITY THROUGH GOOD GOVERNANCE

Security through Good Governance Program Globally, humanity has learned the hard lesson that Conflict and War at any level is very much interconnected and interrelated with Governance. Governance approaches, systems and institutions have a direct impact on the security of individuals, communities and nations. At FOSDA we work to promote democracy and the tenets of Human rights as critical to the achievement of peace and security outcome as all levels. Currently under the guidance of our strategic plan we are focused on strengthening local government structures, their responsiveness to the needs of citizens and equitable provision of pro-poor public services to minimise in-equality at the local level. We also promote the values of open society and open governance systems, working with civil society group to demand accountability and transparency at both local and national levels. To achieve the above, we commit ourselves to the following activities 1. Undertake research in contemporary governance issues including Domestic Revenue Mobilization (DRM); Online Transparency and responsiveness to pro poor services 2. Support DRM champions to monitor pro poor service delivery in target districts and hold duty bearers to account 3. Hold Multistakeholder dialogues with duty bearers and stakeholders on innovative approaches to improve DRM and responsiveness to pro poor services 4. Monitoring of Violent incidents across the country to draw the attention of state agencies to act
