The Foundation for Security and Development in Africa (FOSDA) participated in the Kick-off Meeting of the Multilateralism through Negotiation and Cultural Diplomacy Education in the Levant and Africa (MANDELA) Project, held in Cologne, Germany.

The MANDELA Project is a pioneering cross-regional initiative that brings together higher education institutions (HEIs) and civil society organizations to address shared priorities in peacebuilding and higher education. It is a three-year, EU co-funded ERASMUS+ education-driven peacebuilding project being implemented in six countries: Austria, Ethiopia, Germany, Ghana, Israel, and Romania.

The project aims to strengthen higher education capacity in conflict-affected and fragile contexts by enhancing academic curricula, professional competencies, and institutional collaboration in the fields of peacebuilding, resilience, multilateralism, and social cohesion.

Implementation of the MANDELA Project is led by a consortium of 16 partner institutions, including HEIs and CSOs across the six participating countries. In Ghana, the project is being implemented by FOSDA, in partnership with the Catholic University College of Ghana, the University of Cape Coast, and the University for Development Studies.
