This year, FOSDA as well as other Women’s Rights and Youth Organizations partnered with the British High Commission for the 2025 Ambassador for a Day competition, an empowering activity focused on the theme of accelerating action for women and girls’ economic empowerment. The annual competition provides young girls with a unique mentorship experience to engage with female Ambassadors and CEOs.

On March 28, 2025, the British High Commission hosted an awards ceremony at the High Commissioner’s residence to celebrate six remarkable winners of this year’s competition. Among them was Dorgbetor Catherena Emefa Fafali, an 18-year-old student from Ghana Communications Technology University (GCTU), representing FOSDA’s camp who has been paired with the British High Commissioner

The FOSDA-GCTU alliance emerged from a collaboration between FOSDA and the GCTU Women’s Commissioner during FOSDA’s celebration of the 2025 International Women’s Day. This partnership has proven to be a powerful catalyst for fostering leadership and advocacy among young women especially Fafali.

The Ambassador for a Day event is not just a competition; At FOSDA, we believe it is a transformative opportunity that equips young girls with mentorship, leadership skills, and the confidence to become changemakers in their communities
