The Foundation for Security and Development in Africa (FOSDA) has joined the Commonwealth Youth Ministers, Youth Leaders, and Youth Work Practitioners in Malaysia for the 5th Global Youth Work Conference 2025 (GYWC2025) from 17 to 19 November, at the International Youth Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The conference was hosted in Malaysia, jointly organised by the Commonwealth Secretariat,
Commonwealth Alliance of Youth Workers Associations (CAYWA), and Universiti Putra Malaysia through the Institute for Social Science Studies (IPSAS). GYWC2025 as held under the theme: Youth Work in a Changing World: Sustaining Local Wisdom for Global Connectivity.

FOSDA’s representative (Solomon Okai, Ag Programmes Manager) participated in 3 breakout sessions including Youth Political Participation; Youth Work Practice and Youth, the Economy and Environment. It was an opportunity to share FOSDA’s Youth work over the years and the lessons and best practices from Ghana. He also received an award on behalf of the Executive Director (Theodora Williams Anti) for the Excellence and Influential category within the Africa Region.
