On this International Day of Peace, themed “Act Now for a Peaceful World”, the Foundation for Security and Development in Africa (FOSDA) reaffirms its commitment to building peace, security, and development across Africa. At FOSDA, we recognize that peace requires action on many fronts: from inclusive governance and citizen participation, to conflict prevention, youth empowerment, gender equality, and arms control. Our initiatives, including the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, youth development, Mining for Peace, Resilient Dialogues, and violence monitoring, reflect this holistic approach.

This year, we urge all stakeholders to:
● Actively secure sustainable financing for Ghana’s WPS agenda, ensuring commitments translate into real impact.
● Act on findings from FOSDA’s Violent Incidents Monitoring Report to strengthen early warning and response.
● Support peace-sensitive governance of natural resources through mining-related community dialogue.
● Invest in inclusive platforms to build trust and cohesion.

Peace cannot wait. The time to act is now. Let us transform today’s challenges into pathways for justice, dignity, and lasting peace.
