Overview
Violent incidents across Ghana continue to rise, with 70 cases recorded in August 2025, bringing the third-quarter total to 157 incidents—18 cases above FOSDA’s projected upper limit. Gun violence alone accounts for nearly half of August’s incidents, while physical assaults remain prevalent. The Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra, and Central Regions are emerging as persistent hotspots.
This trend, if left unaddressed, could make Q3 2025 the most violent quarter since 2022, underscoring the urgency for coordinated, data-driven interventions.
