On this African Women’s Day, FOSDA joins the continent in celebrating the resilience, leadership, and enduring legacy of African women in shaping our cultural and political landscapes. As custodians of heritage, storytellers, mediators, and community builders, African women have long been at the forefront of peacebuilding: preserving harmony and fostering resilience in times of conflict and transition.
The African Union’s Continental Results Framework on the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda provides a critical roadmap for tracking and accelerating progress. Now is the time for governments, institutions, and civil society to act boldly: to prioritize and invest in women’s full and equal participation in decision-making, conflict resolution, and governance.
African Women are playing a key role in promoting Peace and Security. Africa Must Prioritise and invest in Women’s Participation in Peace Processes.
Sustainable peace cannot be achieved without African women at the center of the process.
