FOSDA engages Ghana TVET Service

On 7 July 2026, the Foundation for Security and Development in Africa (FOSDA) engaged the Ghana TVET Service in a strategic dialogue on strengthening Ghana’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, highlighting youth employment as both an economic and national security priority. The engagement focused on sustainable TVET financing, industry-responsive training, the effectiveness of the National Apprenticeship Programme, and the need to shift societal perceptions of skilled trades, reaffirming TVET as a vital pathway to decent work, entrepreneurship and inclusive development.

FOSDA Q2 2026 Violent Incidents Monitoring Report

In July 2026, FOSDA’s Second Quarter (Q2) 2026 Violent Incidents Monitoring Report recorded 228 violent incidents across all sixteen regions of Ghana, marking a 13% increase from Q1 2026 and a 51% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The report highlights a continued deterioration in Ghana’s security environment, with Q2 2026 recording the highest number of violent incidents in a single quarter since FOSDA’s monitoring began in 2022, surpassing the previous record of 227 incidents recorded in Q3 2025.
