A total of fifty-five(55) violent incidents were recorded across Ghana in September 2025. Of these, Physical violence accounted for 25 incidents (45%), while gun related incidents comprised 16 incidents (29%). There were 5 (9%) cases of Political violence. The remaining 9 incidents were distributed among economic, sexual, psychological and social forms of violence, reflecting a diverse typology of harm.
Regionally, the Greater Accra recorded the highest number of incidents, with 11 cases, followed closely by the Ashanti and Eastern Regions with 10 incidents each. Three regions including Central, Oti and Upper West also recorded 4 incidents each. Notably, the Western North, North East and Upper East did not record and incident in the media. This geographic spread underscore the pervasive nature of violence across the country, with concentrations
in urban and peri-urban regions suggesting potential hotspots for targeted intervention and preventive
programming
