The Foundation for Security and Development in Africa (FOSDA) is participating in the second edition of the Schuman Forum in Brussels, Belgium organized by the European Union (EU).
The Schuman Security and Defence Forum (Schuman Forum) is a major platform for deliberating security challenges and responses by leaders and experts from all around the world. These include political actors, senior decision-makers, military representatives from EU Member States and more than 60 partner countries, as well as representatives from international and regional organisations, leading think-tanks and academia. The Forum forms part of The EU’s global strategy to counter insecurities and protect member states.
As partner to the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, FOSDA is to contribute its extensive expertise through its comprehensive research and strategic insights into advancing human security. FOSDA is poised to share insights and provide a comprehensive understanding of the security landscape, especially within Ghana focusing on gender equality and social inclusion (Women, Youth Peace and Security), governance, and preventing violent extremism.
By engaging in these critical discussions, FOSDA hopes to influence policy formulation, foster collaborative efforts to enhance global security measures, and promote “DELIVERING TOGETHER ON PEACE, SECURITY AND DEFENCE”.
The event is starting today 28 May, with a side event featuring experts from think-tanks and academia as well as a ministerial dinner afterward.
The Schuman Forum will continue on 29 May at the European Parliament, featuring a keynote speech by HR/VP Josep Borrel Fontelles, panels, roundtables, and plenary sessions.
