The Executive Director of Oxfam-Québec, Ms Beatrice Vaugrante Visits FOSDA

Advancing Human Security Since 2001

Earlier today, May 18, 2023, FOSDA had the pleasure of receiving the Executive Director of Oxfam-Québec, Ms Beatrice Vaugrante in our office as part of her visit to Ghana. The visit is meant to familiarise Ms Vaugurante to some of the partners of Oxfam in Ghana as well as their work in general. We shared lessons from our human security approach to achieving peace and security in Ghana and beyond. We dwelt specifically of Oxfam funded projects including our initiatives on youth development which has led to the formation of Regional and National youth Networks as well as the West African Youth Alliance.

We showcased our flagship Youth Entrepreneurship Support (YES) project, funded by Oxfam Quebec under the Volunteer Cooperation Program ( VCP) through Oxfam in Ghana.
Also of interest to Ms Vaugarante is our project on effective local government systems under which we are currently campaigning for digitisation of Revenue mobilisation processes.

Ms Vaugurante, who was in the company of Mr. Mohammed Madamud, A Programmes Director at Oxfam in Ghana, also shared lessons from her experience working to promote youth and women participation in governance. The Executive Director of FOSDA, Mrs Theodora Williams Anti, expressed FOSDA’s delight at her visit and expressed more partnership to addressing issues of youth participation and their development iin West Africa.
